Mr. Franklin,
I believe the Bible as the inerrant Word of God; I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died so that I would not have to; and that he was God on earth.
The reason I am writing is that I was doing some research on the EU, as it (seemingly) relates to end-times, and I came across your website. (I found your site to be very interesting and informative, by the way.)
I wonder if you could clarify something for me. I encountered this sentence:
"Another demonic biblical symbol that is being used in conjunction with the European Union is the one from Revelation 17 where a “great harlot” is depicted riding a beast. For some strange and unknown reason this symbol is being used to represent the EU! For example, when Britain issued a stamp to commemorate the first European Parliament elections in 1979, the picture on the stamp depicted a woman riding a beast."
The reason this sentence concerns me is that it seems as if you are saying that it is unknown why this specific symbol was chosen. I'm sure, however, that you are aware of the myth of Europa and Zeus. In the legend, Zeus (disguised as a white bull) kidnaps Europa and rapes her. Europa (the mythical woman) can be seen elsewhere also, such as the Italian Euro coin that commemorates the signing of the EU constitution.
While I still think the woman riding the beast in Scripture could very well be referring to the EU (and the religion which will "ride" it), I respectfully suggest that the wording of the paragraph I mentioned is a bit misleading, because there would, in fact, seem to be practical (in addition to possible spiritual) reasons that EU symbolism was chosen.
I bring this up because I believe that it is possible a person knowledgeable in world affairs (but ignorant of Scripture) might find this paragraph a stumbling block to the credibility of an otherwise very credible and interesting website.
I would be very interested in your opinion, sir.
Respectfully,
Jason Stephens
