Sinister side of Galileo sat-nav

For those who have a habit of getting lost when driving, the invention of the ‘sat-nav’ system which guides you to your destination is an absolute boon.  However, the technology which created this useful tool, under EU plans, has a much darker side than getting you home from aunt Nellie’s.

Most satellite navigation systems rely on the American Global Positioning System (GPS), which is provided free to the UK and most European countries.  However, the EU, at a cost of billions, has been producing its own Galileo satellite system which is intended replicate the US system.  Considering we can use the US GPS system for free, questions are being asked why the hard pressed taxpayers across the EU should have to pay for an identical system.  The answer is power.

When up and running the EU intends to use Galileo to introduce a system of road pricing, which is why our Government is already implementing congestion charging and talking about screwing the motorist up to an eye watering £1.30 per mile at peak times with the revenue going to the European Union.  Our Government is preparing to implement road pricing because the EU has told it to do so.

In addition to this, Galileo has military implications, which the EU and our Government are trying to keep quiet.  Once implemented the EU will have its own 'defence identity' with weapons and military systems controlled by Galileo.  Once the EU makes the French and Dutch vote again on the constitution, and they can somehow coerce the people of Britain to accept it, then the EU will have its own fully integrated defence force under the control of the EU as the EU constitution gives it that authority.

In the spring of 2007 the EU will begin fifty days of celebration at a cost of millions to mark the signing of the Treaty of Rome on March 25th 1957, its founding treaty, in which those fateful words were included - “ever closer union” - which always had the ultimate intention of creating a country called ‘Europe’.  Rather than celebrating, I for one will be holding a wake and will mourn the slow death of my country which is being poisoned by EU membership.

Yours sincerely,
