"Only Anger Can Break the Spell" By Ron Ewart, President National Association of Rural Landowners © Copyright July 29, 2007 - All Rights Reserved In a recently aired episode of the original Star Trek series, Captain Kirk and crew visited a planet where no life should exist but the original colonists were surviving quite well there, with one exception. There were no animals, only people and plant life. The inhabitants of the planet were being seduced by a plant that sprayed spores out every now and then, rendering the people in a state of blissful ignorance, a virtual paradise. As the crew was overcome one by one when a few of the plants made their way back to the Enterprise, Captain Kirk was the last to be taken in by the spores. In his effort to resist the spell of the spores, Kirk got ANGRY over its affect on him and as his anger rose, the spell evaporated. Kirk enticed Spock back to the ship and began to insult him in every way possible. Spock got ANGRY and started knocking Kirk around before the effects of the spores wore off from his anger. Spoke and Kirk then developed a mechanism to bring the rest of the crew back to reality, including the colonists of the planet. And so it is that most Americans live in a state of blissful ignorance, a virtual utopia, under the spell of the "spores" of government propaganda, lies and distortions. It's just easier to be deaf, dumb and blind when it comes to what's outside your own family, job and home. The prevailing philosophy being, if you ignore it, maybe it will go away. No, it won't go away, it will just get worse and it has. If you are not angry about the illegal immigration problem, you are under a spell and only your anger will break the spell. If you are not angry about the fact your kids are being brainwashed in our public schools and colleges, you are under a spell and only your anger will break the spell. If you are not angry about having to comply with millions of unnecessary rules, regulations, laws and ordinances, you are under a spell and only your anger will break the spell. If you are not angry about a large portion of the Islamic World wanting to destroy Americans and the American way of life and freedom, you are under a spell and only your anger will break the spell. That enemy made a very bold statement on 9/11. The message was crystal clear. If you are not angry that your government is trying to destroy American sovereignty by merging the U. S. with Mexico and Canada under the North American Union, you are under a spell and only your anger will break the spell. If you are not angry that radical environmentalism has permeated every level of government and our education system and we now reside in an environmental police state, you are under a spell and only your anger will break the spell. If you are not angry that government wastes trillions of your tax dollars for nefarious do-gooder programs, you are under a spell and only your anger will break the spell. If you are not angry that your government gives away billions of your tax dollars to demagogues, dictators and despots in the form of foreign aid, you are under a spell and only your anger will break the spell. If you are not angry that every branch of government now works to survive and grow by exercising more power over you and taking more of your money to entrench that power, you are under a spell and only your anger will break that spell. The expression of anger can be through active or passive behaviors. In the case of "active" emotion, the angry person "lashes out" verbally or physically at an intended target. When anger is a "passive" emotion, it is characterized by silent sulking, passive-aggressive behavior (hostility), and tension" How many injustices, conflicts, negligence, humiliation and betrayal, perpetrated by your government, will it take for you to get angry? Unless you get angry and do something (active behavior) about those constitutional injustices and the loss of your freedom and liberty, injustices will continue and freedom will evolve into enslavement. No, it already has, but being under the spell of a virtual paradise, most folks just can't "see" it. That is why we formed the National Association of Rural Landowners, to give us a platform from which to communicate and educate our "song" of freedom to all who will listen. We are trying to bring the "crew" of the good ship "America" back to reality and release them from the spell of government tyranny. We have taken our message of freedom to YOUTUBE and have our first video there. The video includes a song we wrote a few days after 9/11. We are angry and that is why we have spent over three years trying to get other people angry so that they will act to stop the injustices that have invaded our culture, our traditions, our educational system, our constitutional freedoms and our government. That three years has come at a great cost to us. If we don't get some more help from those who have escaped the spell, we won't be here much longer and the spell will harden. Our efforts never cease, but the support for that effort falls far short of what it takes to sustain it. What a weird and strange contradiction it is, where the defense of freedom is worth so little, but the support for enslavement is worth billions. Something is dreadfully wrong with this picture.
