If you are thinking of buying something from our web shop, please hold your orders until the last half of November.
Pat and I are in Israel for a month, helping to look after our grandchildren and, in my case, assisting the Mohel......
So what's a Mohel? The Mohel holds a religious office and conducts
brit milah, the "covenant of circumcision." It is an office holding high honor and to be asked to help at the ceremony was a mark of respect that I appreciated.
This meant I had to hold our new grandson still while the Mohel advanced
upon him with the knife. I would have put up a fight as well.....he was only eight days old. We celebrated afterwards. It might take him a few years to see the advantages.....
Incidentally, this was a divine instruction to the Israelites: circumcise on the eight day. Relatively recently science caught up with the Bible when it was discovered that the eighth day is the perfect time for this ceremony to be carried out. The body heals fast and there is minimum pain.

Anyway, we run a shoestring operation and in our absence from England our son, who is extremely busy working in a TV newsroom, has to try and find DVDs etc to mail out. We have some Goodbye books in America that our friend Donna sends out, but other than that everything comes from our home. So if you want to order, please hold for a few weeks.
With thanks from Alan
