If Jesus came to breakfast...
17/10/2010

Imagine - you are having breakfast and suddenly the Lord Jesus walks in and says:  'May I join you?'

Just the thought of this makes my (Pat's) heart pound and my eyes overflow.  And, dear friends, if you are a follower of the Lord Jesus, this sort of thing will actually happen.  We have a promise, a most precious promise, and it is made to people living now, in our time.  Look it up in the Book of Revelation, Chapter 3 verse 20.

That is the letter to the church of Laodicea, the lukewarm church where the people were affluent and needed nothing.  Jesus said He would vomit them out of His mouth!  But then He made the wondrous promise to other people living in that time:  'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.'

For those of us who love Him, He will one day dine with us, and we with Him.  Just think....this is real, guaranteed.  He will sit at my table, but I will probably be on the floor at His feet.

Do you love Him?  Are you holding back because you might have to give up something you are doing?  Today is the day to take that decisive step, to step on to the narrow path that leads to Heaven.  Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins and make you one of His people today.  Your one regret will be that you did not do this sooner!

'Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.'
