Israel diary.  My friend Ruth looked me in the eye and said: 'Tell me the truth; Pat, do you think I am crazy?'

'What do you mean; of course you're not crazy!' I said.

Here is her reply:  'I have a British passport. I could live anywhere in Europe.  Yet here I sit in my house, 10 miles from the border with Lebanon.  There are 40,000 Hezbollah rockets up there pointed at us.  They are bigger than the ones in the last war, and they have better targetting.

'The sirens could start up any minute.  A lot of people would say I was crazy to stay here.

'There is a problem - I have 13 grandchildren here.  Anyway, a soldier doesn't leave his post when war starts.' (Ruth is a soldier - of the cross.)

So no, Ruth is not crazy.  I hope the war never starts. If it does, I hope the Lord takes us all out first in the Rapture.  I wish I could move every Christian out of Israel and into Britain or America, but that is not going to happen.  There are not many there, maybe 10,000, so we would hardly notice that they had moved in!  They could move straight in to some of those those beautiful homes now standing empty all across America. What a blessing they would be to us!

But maybe the Lord wants them there, His 10,000 little lights shining in a dark land.  Most of them live very pinched lives by western standards, and they all know the sirens could sound and the rockets start flying at any time.

All we can do is pray.  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and all of Israel.  Pray for the downfall of Islam, the evil religion which demands that 'infidels' (Christians) and Jews be converted or killed.  Pray for conversions instead among Jews and muslims.  Pray that they will be set free from their dead religions.  Above all, pray for the Lord Jesus to return soon!

But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons...men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth. (Forbidding to marry, as the Roman Catholic Church does, is a doctrine of demons.)
