This Thursday evening, August 6, I am speaking in Swindon, Wilts, on “The Middle East in Bible Prophecy.” Anyone who wonders whether there will ever be peace in the Middle East should understand that this will only happen when the Prince of Peace returns in glory to rule and reign from Jerusalem– the coming capital of the world. The Middle East is seldom far from today’s headlines, precisely as the Bible’s prophets predicted in great detail, sometimes 2,500 years ago. So nothing that is about to unfold – some of the most remarkable events in world history – will come as a surprise to those of us who study and believe Bible prophecy.

Which nations are about to join in a confederation to wipe out Israel? Scripture makes it clear.Israel wins, as it always does, against big odds. This is itself a sure sign that the God of the bible is the one true God, who knows the end from the beginning. Read Psalm 83 to see the next big event in detail – ahead of all the news channels!

Then, when Israel is living in peace, the Russians, led by “Gog,” their leader at the time - a Putin-like figure who could even be Putin – head another vast confederation of Islamic nations, those from the outer rim around Israel, to wipe out the nation that is the Apple of God’s eye.

Tiny Israel, one of the smallest nations in the world, could never withstand such an onslaught. Not on its own. But, God Himself intervenes with great might to supernaturally destroy all the invading armies on the mountains of Israel. The valiant IDF – the Israeli Defence Force - doesn’t have to take action.

Other nations of the world, most of whom hate Israel because she is the major sign that there is a true God among all the world’s false religions, do nothing more than a little hand-wringing. “Have you come to take a spoil?” one asks, rather pathetically.

Despite being banished from their own land for nearly 2000 years, Israel is back as a nation, speaking Biblical Hebrew, an unparalleled event in the history of the world, when a scattered, persecuted people were regathered and built into a nation that scripture says will “be a like a firepot” among the nations that dare to attack them.

This is The Bible in The News, world events unfolding exactly as prophesied. No other so-called “holy book” dares to make detailed predictions about the future, every one of which has come true with total precision in the past. The predictions about to be acted out on the world scene will be no exception.

This is the great untold story of our time, particularly so in many of our often moribund “mainline” churches, which these days are sometimes more like old, deserted railway sidings. There are still lively local fellowships where the truth is preached.

The greatest story never told- or seldom told - is the Bible's certain predictions of the glorious future for Israel. This is my subject on Thursday, starting around 7.30.
