Is Covid 19 God’s judgement on the world? Our church's lockdown telephone service for May 17, 2020, started with this question.
Kevin, the man leading the service for Tongham Christian Fellowship in southeast England, said: ‘No, I don’t believe it is God’s judgement. I believe it is God’s mercy.
‘I believe the Lord is opening our eyes and giving us one more chance to turn to Him and repent. I believe it is a pre-cursor to judgement.
‘It is nothing to what will unfold when judgement does come.’
He referred us to the book of Revelation chapter 6 verse 8, when Jesus in heaven, the Lamb of God, opens the fourth seal on the book with seven seals.
When the Lord opens this fourth seal, one quarter of humanity dies, from war, hunger, disease and from the beasts of the earth. And that is only one part of God’s terrifying judgements, which get progressively worse.
Kevin said that the vaccine for this crisis is repentance. Later on in the service Kevin listed some of the things we have to repent of.
-
Churches ignoring the prophetic word of God, failing to preach His anger and wrath, ignoring the Book of Revelation, becoming apostate and leaving many to die without hearing the true faith. He said even now no one was asking for prayer because nationally, we as a church have ignored God and we have to ask His forgiveness and that He will teach us to order our days (Psalm 90:12).
-
The ‘most heinous of crimes, namely the murder of 9 million babies over 50 plus years in the UK.’ He said: ‘We have bowed down to Moloch (false god to which babies were sacrificed in fire). There are 550 more children murdered every day – evil beyond belief. How God can ever forgive us I cannot imagine.’
He prayed: ‘Father, we cry out to You because our nation accepts abortion; accepts that homosexuality is all right; that same sex marriage is all right. We pray for Your mercy!’
He said the young people were being murdered mentally by the things taught now, as babies were murdered in the womb.
Colin Lyne, a retired postman (mail carrier) gave the sermon, which he titled: ‘A godly and healthy life will greatly reduce your chances of getting corona virus!’
He quoted statistics including that Asia, with 59% of the world’s population, has only 8% of corona virus deaths. Europe, with 14% of the world’s population, has 84% of corona deaths worldwide. Also, he noted that more men than women were dying.
He said there were four things in particular which related to this:
-
Smoking – and men smoke more than women
-
Alcohol abuse – again, more men, although he noted women alcoholics he knew who had died younger than they should have.
-
Lack of Vitamin D, which vastly increases your chance of getting the virus.
-
Obesity – he quoted statistics that 10 out of every 11 people getting the virus were obese. He said gluttony was condemned over 100 times in the Bible. He personally had taken this to heart in recent weeks and lost weight by eating chicken and fruit a lot. ‘I went from hole 2 on my belt to hole 9, and would have gone on, but that was the last hole.’
He said there was evidence of people with the virus having eaten bat soup, hard to believe, but there you are.
Bats and other animals were forbidden as food by God to the ancient Israelites, as was pork of course.
He said the definition of obese was is you are 20% or more above your normal body weight for your height, and gave more statistics, but I could not write fast enough to get them.
He also now takes apple cider vinegar tablets to help with health and weight loss.
He said: ‘If you change those four things, you will probably not get corona virus.’
Others on the phones added vitamin C to that!
Alan Franklin said about one-fourth of the deaths were diabetic people.
Colin said: ‘People are basically killing themselves; I wish our children were taught these things.’

Anyone reading this who has never accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour needs to get serious with God now while there is still time.
I asked my 9 year old granddaughter today on the phone: ‘Do you know how to make sure you get to heaven?’
‘Yes, I know. You have to believe in Jesus Christ.’
She knows the way, a 9 year old in Israel. But try telling someone in England that! They will probably say, ‘I don’t believe that; I’m a good person; I never robbed a bank; I think there are many ways to God.’
They want to believe what they want to believe, and they do not want to hear what God says so clearly in the Bible.
You can probably get a Bible and if not, our church in Tongham would be delighted to supply one. You need to read and see for yourself that you in fact are not a good person, even if you never robbed a bank! The Bible says there ARE NO GOOD PEOPLE. We are all sinners and need God’s forgiveness.
Once you are willing to admit that in fact you are not Mr, Mrs or Miss Perfect, you need to ask God to forgive your sins. They can only be forgiven because Jesus died and shed His blood as a sacrifice for sin.
He died for our sins, not His own, because He had none.
The Bible says: ‘...the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanses us from ALL sin.’ (from the first letter of the apostle John, chapter 1 verse 7)
Then in verse 9: ‘If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.’
So please, dear readers, please think. Our faith is a reasonable faith; God gave us brains to think things through. There is a way that leads to life and heaven and there is a way that leads to hell and torment.
Someone wrote to me: ‘Pat, I know you mean well, but it is upsetting to people to hear about hell.’ Yep! Sure is! It sure upset me when I read about it in the Bible at age 36 in 1981. I got on my knees and just about cried my eyes out, begging God to forgive me and make me one of His people.
There is nothing quite like truth and the fear of God and the fear of judgement to get smart people on the right track, the track that leads to heaven. Hell is mentioned in 27 books of the Bible, and the Lord Jesus revealed just how horrible it is.
And, dear folks, if you decide to go God's way, Jesus said He will NEVER turn anyone away. Never, never, never, never, never. The Greek word He used is the equivalent of five ‘nevers’. How wonderful, how glorious, how kind and loving He is, how merciful, how ready to forgive and even forget!
As far as the east is from the west He will remove your sins. That is as far as it is possible to get!
Why would anyone not want to go Jesus’ way, to at least read His book and check it out. If your eternal destiny is in the balance, should you not make some effort?
