My King by Pat Franklin

As Britain gets ready to celebrate a  coronation event, my thoughts turn to my King.  Let me introduce you.

My King wore a crown of thorns.

My King had no golden coach.  He came as a humble servant riding a donkey.  Zechariah 9:9, Matthew 21:5

My King had no palace.  In fact he had nowhere to lay his head.  Matthew 8:20

My King had no expensive ring; in fact they pierced his hands.  Psalm 22:16

My King died naked; they stole all his clothes.  Psalm 22:18

My King never did anything wrong, but I did and he died in my place.

My King shed his blood for me.

My King knew I was no good, so he gave me a new heart.  Ezekiel 36:26, 2 Corinthians 5:17

My King  loves me!  And I love him!

My King watches over me.  John 10:14

I know his voice and  he knows my name.   John 10:3

One day he will call my name and I will go to him.  John 10:3

My King has a huge family and has adopted me.  John 1:12, Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:5,6

He wants us all to be together. John 17:21-24

My King will come again in all his glory riding a white horse.  Rev 19

Every knee will bow to my King!  Philippians 2:10

Every tongue will confess that he is Lord!  Philippians 2:11

My King is the Son of God, Jesus Christ.  He will never leave me or forsake me. Deut 31:8, John 14:18

My King has gone away for a long time, but he will return when ‘the fullnesss of the gentiles has come in’.  Romans 11:25

My King promised that if you believe in him, you HAVE eternal  life.  John 6:47

My King made the world wonderful, but bad people rejected him and ruined it.

My King left his heavenly throne to become a humble workman .

He told people the truth and many believed in him.

But most people rejected him and still do.

My King willingly gave his life as a sacrifice for the sins of all who would put their faith in him.

My King is coming!  John 14:3

My King will set up his kingdom on the earth!  Rev 20

It will last 1,000 years!  Rev 20

Then my King will wind everything up and create a beautiful new heaven and earth. Rev 21

My King wants to save everyone, but each one has to acknowledge him.   John 3:16

My King does not force anybody to accept him.

My King gives us all a choice to come to him or turn away.  John 3:16-18

Won’t you accept my King today?

‘For God so loved the world he sent his only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

‘For God did not send his Son to condemn the world, but that the world through him should be saved.

‘He who believes on the Son is not  condemned, but he who believes not is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.’  John 3:16-18
