From strength to slavery by Pat Franklin

June 6 is the anniversary of the Normandy landings, when the Allied Forces crossed the English Channel to confront Nazi Germany head on.  So many brave men fighting to keep freedom alive in the world! The mightiest force in history defeated the most evil force in history.  Since then the West has enjoyed the greatest prosperity for the common people in all of human history.  But that was then…

This is now.  Freedom is slipping away.  People are afraid even to speak their mind on many topics.  The Bible is just an old book of no modern relevance according to many people.

Truth is fallen.  Our very gender is denied!  Scientists are afraid to speak truth.  Doctors are targeted if they think independently and try to actually cure illness instead of following government guidelines benefitting Big Pharma.  Even the military is circumscribed.

Men are psychologically emasculated.  They should be strong leaders, our God given protectors, but for all sorts of reasons (distracted by sport, hemmed in by narrow self- interest, etc) they have stood idly by while our way of life is being stolen piece by piece.

Once there was a very mighty force in ancient Israel.  They are described as ‘mighty men of valour, famous men, heads of the house of their fathers’.  But they became slaves!   The Assyrians came and those who were not mutilated and impaled were carried off to miserable slavery.  You can read for yourself in 1 Chronicles 5:24-26

How indescribably awful.  Why did this happen?  Verses 25 tells us – they stopped worshipping the one true God and gave honor to false gods, even the gods of the nations they themselves had conquered.

Have the nations of the West done this?  How many people could even tell you who the one true God is?  I will tell you.  He is the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, who sent His only begotten Son so that all who believe in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life,.

And what is it about Him we have to believe?  That the Lord Jesus shed His holy blood and died as a sacrifice for our horrible sins on the cross of Calvary; that He was buried; that He rose to life again on the third day according to scripture.  (1 Cor 15:1-4)

That is the gospel, but you would be hard put to find anyone who could tell you that.

We as the most blessed people who ever lived have allowed ourselves to slip into ignorance of the Bible and of history while enjoying all the fruits of freedom.

Do we really worship false gods?  It is becoming ever more obvious in the entertainment industry and in mega public events featuring demonic creatures and scenes.  For example, the opening ceremony of the Gotthard tunnel under the Alps and the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, in2022 featuring a woman on a giant bull.

All this is allowed, even applauded, and sadly, paid for by us, the taxpayers.  This is because we have kicked the Bible out and no longer can tell good from evil.

We don’t want anything to do with God, because He would tell us what to do and we want to do what we want to do.

I certainly did, until 1981 when I began reading the Bible and realized it was all true.  The bad part was that I could see with crystal clarity that I was a sinner and had offended God in many ways.

Which is why He sent His beloved Son!  When I also realized this I was soon on my knees begging forgiveness and mercy.

God delights in mercy and is full of loving kindness towards sinners!  Unbelievable!  But it is believable, because He says so repeatedly in His great book.

Even now, if people got on their knees and turned back to God, our nations and cultures might get one last chance.

Some Christians I know believe God could send a last revival, but I am pessimistic on that because of how Jesus ironically described the end of the age ( which we are now in).  He said:  ‘When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?’  Luke 18:8

It looks so dark, but the Light of the World is on the way!  Jesus promised to return and everyone at the church we attend in Tongham, England, believes it cannot be much longer before He comes in the air to take us out. 1 Thes 4:13-18

Do I deserve this?  No way!  But He said He will not treat us as our sins deserve!  We cannot fathom this at all.  How can sinners be reckoned among His beloved people?  It is inexplicable, but it is true, and He says His ways are above our ways and His thoughts above our thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

Have you accepted the Savior, dear friend?  That is the great divider of people.  Accept or reject the Lord Jesus Christ.  On this hinge our eternity hangs.

Prayer:  Dear God, the world is so dark and scary now.  Please save me and my family!  Please help us get a Bible and find some of your people to help us understand!  I may not know much, but I put my trust right now in your Son Jesus Christ to forgive my sins and make me one of your people.
