We've already seen how campaigners such as UsForThem, Free Speech Union and many others were “debanked” by PayPal apparently for political reasons. Similar tactics were used by the Canadian government against peaceful protestors (and indeed their supporters, who never even attended a protest). Now it appears others including politician Nigel Farage have had their bank accounts closed, and been unable to open new ones.
We cannot allow a situation where people deemed to have the “wrong” views at any given time can be shut out of the financial system. More to say soon.
ULEZ: Protest outside High Court, London, Tuesday
We understand the court case ("judicial review") against Sadiq Khan's ULEZ ("Ultra Low-Emission Zone") extension starts on Tuesday - we're trying to find out exact times but likely to be morning.
If you can, we'd really like a good showing of people joining in respectful protest outside to show some of the strength of feeling against this undemocratic imposition. The address is: Royal Courts Of Justice, Strand, London WC2A 2LL. More than ever, we need to stick #together! Support businesses who are on your side
