Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives
 The Temple Mount
|
Israel is God’s special land-and Jerusalem is the future world capital!
King David established Jerusalem as Israel’s capital around 1000BC
- The word Jerusalem is found 811 times in 764 Bible verses. It is not found once in The Qur’an.
- This doesn’t stop the Islamics saying Jerusalem is their third holiest city.
- Jerusalem is in the eye of the storm – which is now breaking
- So why is Jerusalem the world’s most important city?
- Genesis 22:2 – (it is)a particular place chosen by God
- “And He said, ‘Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah; and offer there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you.’”
- That’s why that area is so coveted by Satan.
- God’s names for the Holy City
- Zion, City of God; City of Truth; The Lord our Righteousness; City of The Great Kings, Ariel, the Lord will Provide; The Lord will be Seen; City of Peace; Holy Mountain; City of Righteousness, City of David; Navel of The Earth; the Capitol; Mountain of The Lord of Hosts; City of Gold; Light of The World; Holy Temple; Valley of Vision; Beautiful View; Joy of All The Earth; City of Praise; Source Stone; City of Jubilee; City of Gathering; Pure Place;
- Eternal Flame; Gate of My People; City of Joy; Great Among The Nations; Utmost of Beauty; Oasis of Security; Tower of Strength; Faithful City; Sublime City; Salem, the City; The Throne of God; The Lord is There.

- If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. Psalm 137; 5.
- Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Psalm 122;6.
- Jerusalem will be the seat of our Lord’s government in the millennium.
- Jesus will reign as king of the world from Mt. Zion in Jerusalem (Isaiah 24:23 and Zechariah 14:9). The Redeemed, in their glorified bodies, will help Him with His reign by serving worldwide as administrators, judges, and spiritual tutors to those who enter the kingdom in the flesh — and to their children (Daniel 7:18,27; Jeremiah 3:15; Luke 19:11-17).
- There will be no heavenly New York or Toronto, currently great cities. There will be both a millennial Jerusalem and a heavenly, new Jerusalem.
- “Upon Zion, My holy mountain” in Psalm 2:6 refers to the earthly, rebuilt and elevated Jerusalem where God will enthrone His King (Messiah) after the defeat of the world’s armies in the campaign of Armageddon

For thus saith the Lord of hosts: Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land: and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come, and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts. (God shook the earth once, when He gave us the Ten Commandments at Sinai. The next time He will shake not only the whole earth, but the entire universe! Are you ready? Only by putting your faith in the Lord Jesus will you escape this terrible shaking!)
Haggai 2:6 and 7
