On that day, Rajan Zed, who was invited by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, sprinkled water from the Ganges River around the Senate rostrum and stepped to the microphone. When not one Senator objected, Ante, Katherine, and Christan prayed aloud for God to have mercy on our nation and proclaimed Jesus Christ as the only way for our sins to be forgiven. All three were arrested by Capitol Police and charged with a misdemeanor offense of "disrupting Congress." Their hearing was scheduled for September 11, 2007, in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. "Ante, Katherine, and Christan have demonstrated the bravery of the great Christian patriots that founded this Country as one nation under God," Judge Roy Moore said. "Our founding fathers, who instituted the practice of praying every day in Congress to the God of the Holy Scriptures, would be appalled to see a prayer to a Hindu god in the Senate. It is the one, true Creator God that has endowed each of us with our inalienable rights, not a Hindu god. Even though the National Motto, 'In God We Trust,' is plainly displayed on the Senate chamber wall, it took three humble Christians in the visitors' gallery to remind our Senators which God they should be trusting."
