Today I came across a wonderful scripture I (Pat) had never noticed before. It refers to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus, when He returns to save the Jewish people. 'And the LORD their God will save them in that day as the flock of His people; For {they are as} the stones of a crown, sparkling in His land.'
You can look it up in the book of Zechariah, Chapter 9 verse 16. We know from other scriptures that the Jewish people will be in danger of being wiped out completely when all the nations of the world come against them at the time of the end, and that the entire nation will then turn to the Lord Jesus in faith and beg Him to return - the very thing He is waiting for!
It is so interesting to find this scripture which reveals how the Lord views His people. He has waited so long for Israel to turn to Him! And instead of berating them for rejecting Him, the believing Jews of the last days are considered as bright sparkling jewels in His land. It continues in verse 17: 'For what comeliness and beauty will be theirs!' Wow, what a Savior we have, and what a magnificent future for all those who put their trust in Jesus Christ.
By the way, the term 'in that day' in the Zechariah scripture is found in many places in the Bible, and it refers to the Millennial reign of the Lord Jesus. When you see the phrase 'in that day', the Bible is talking about the time of the 1,000 year reign of Christ on earth. A lot of things fall into place when you know that.
