You are smart to refuse so-called “Smart Meters.”
THE CURSE OF THE SMART METER In November 2022 there were news reports of people, who had been persuaded to switch to so-called smart meters for their gas and electricity, finding their power and gas supplies being cut off for no apparent reason.
After living in the cold and dark their enquiries showed their energy supplier had switched their payments from monthly direct debits to prepayments without informing them, and they had not prepaid. It is estimated 450,000 households could fall foul of this curse of the smart meter. Alan Franklin adds: Someone whose job was to install these Big Brother style so called smart meters told me on no account to get one. He said that if you try and switch supplier you are in big trouble, as the system doesn’t work. He also said they are unreliable.
Most people are well able to read their own meters and if the figures need to be checked once in a while by a real live human so much the better.
