This Sunday message, delivered at our home church, Tongham Christian Fellowship,
aims to show the importance of taking the Word of God seriously - from Genesis to Revelation. If you start leaving out chunks of the Bible you don't accept, the whole narrative rapidly becomes a nonsense. That's why the demolition of Darwinism is vital. This message aims to provide some of the ammunition. ALAN FRANKLIN
There are two basic worldviews and the Bible sums up both:
“The heavens declare the glory of God.” Psalm 19:1
“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no god.’ ”
Psalm 14:1
Our worldview determines our attitudes. If we believe the Bible and trust that it is wholly true then we are likely to value life and be against abortion, perversion and the worship of false gods.
Without literal Creation, the rest of the Bible makes no sense.
Luke, chapter 3, traces the lineage of the Lord Jesus, right back to Adam, who was directly created by God (verse 38). Like all of the Bible, it is precise and accurate. We did not evolve from pond slime to apes to people.
If, however, we think that evolution is true and the fittest and strongest can trample down the weakest, then we get racism and worse: abortion on demand, based on a couple’s choice. The unborn person has no choice, for there is a holocaust going on today far worse than anything the Nazis ever devised. Yet it stems from the same mindset. If people are handicapped, why not just kill them? Or if they are inconvenient? Of if they don’t look perfect? We already know that abortions are being carried out in Britain today based solely on the sex of the unborn child.
Many of history’s monsters believed, as Richard Dawkins does, that the theory of evolution proves that the Bible is untrue, that there was no creation in six days and that we are all related to some slimy creature that crawled out of a pool of mud billions of years ago.
This is some of Darwin's legacy - the destruction of belief in God the Creator
The key exhibit at Darwin's Kent home is mounted on top of a text of Genesis 1. It reads: "Many Christians believed that the world and everything in it, including mankind, had been created by God in the beginning and had remained unaltered ever since. Darwin's theory made nonsense of all of this....the story of Adam and Eve was a myth."
Despite the religious influences in his life, the decline of Darwin's faith began when he started to doubt the truth of the first chapters of Genesis. Darwin's autobiography says -"I had gradually come by this time, [i.e. 1836 to 1839] to see that the Old Testament was no more to be trusted than the sacred books of the Hindus or the beliefs of any barbarian." Once you discard a chunk of the Bible you are on a slippery slope.
These are the consequences….
This is a timeline of evolution-inspired terror – mainly from information found at
creation.com
1860: Karl Marx
The ‘spiritual father’ of the communist system, Marx was an avid adherent of Darwin. He combined his social and economic idea with evolutionary principles. Marx wrote that Darwin’s book ‘contains the basis in natural history for our views.’
1918: Leon Trotsky
Fanatically committed to Darwinism and Marxism, communist leader Trotsky was brutal against the Christian church. He said that Darwin’s ideas ‘intoxicated’ him, and ‘Darwin stood for me like a mighty doorkeeper at the entrance to the temple of the universe.’ With no Creator’s laws to restrain him and the justification of evolution, he felt free to use any means to attain power and political ends.
1930: Joseph Stalin
Joe Stalin, the world’s worst mass-murderer, studied at Tiflis (Tbilisi) Georgia, theological college.
He was a 13 year old choirboy and reader of the Psalms when he read Origin of Species. He told his friends afterwards: "God doesn't actually exist. We have been deceived. I'll lend you a book and you'll see." He then produced Darwin's book.
After understanding that evolution provided no basis for conscience or morals, he felt free to torture and murder to whatever extent he chose to achieve his communist goals. As a convinced atheist he went on to be responsible for the deaths of an estimated 20 million (or
up to 60 million by some accounts!) of his own people.
1940: Adolf Hitler:
Formed his racial and social policies on the evolutionary ideas of survival of the fittest and the superiority of certain ‘favoured races’ (as in the subtitle of Darwin’s book). Hitler’s reign resulted in the murder of six million Jews as well as many blacks, gypsies, the retarded, and other groups deemed unfit to live. The evolutionary ‘science’ of eugenics provided him with justification for his decrees.
1975: Pol Pot
The death in 1998 of Cambodia’s Pol Pot marked the end of one of the world’s worst mass murderers. From 1975 he led the Khmer Rouge to genocide against his own people in a bloodthirsty regime which was inspired by the communism of Stalin and China’s notorious Mao Zedong. Chairman Mao is known to have regarded Darwin and his disciple Huxley as his two favourite authors.
So as we enter fully into a post-Christian age in Britain, we know what to expect. The examples given show what happens when Bible-belief is kicked out of the classroom, when Christianity’s influences wanes and fades.
No wonder the liberal elite who run our education system don’t want history taught in any accurate way. Evangelist Ray Comfort showed the result in a video called 180, a report on which is on our website. Ray Comfort in speaks to young people on the streets.
It is called 180, because after thinking about some crucial questions, some of the young people do a 180 degree turn in their opinions about God, the Ten Commandments and particularly abortion.
This story is on our website and can be found using our search engine, top right.
The first part features Germany.
Ray Comfort is out on the streets in Los Angeles asking
students :
'Do you know who Adolf Hitler was?'
You would be amazed - so many said they had never heard of him.
A few thought maybe he was a Communist.
Judging from the appalling ignorance out on the streets, American schools don't seem to bother teaching history The same thing has happened in Britain, where many students have no idea who fought the Second World War or what it was about.
On the streets, Ray Comfort really opens the eyes of young people to the Holocaust, the Ten Commandments, abortion, and
the question of our eternal destiny.
Several of the young people change their minds totally by the end of the film, making that 180 degree U turn which puts them on course for Heaven.
If like Hitler you believe in Darwinism, then doing away with the handicapped is just part of the survival of the fittest. Inconvenient old people? Then send around the euthanasia vans, as they are doing in Holland. This report is from digitaljournal.com:
Euthanasia may be legal in the Netherlands, but that hasn't stopped their mobile euthanasia house call units from stirring up controversy.
The mobile units
aim to travel to the homes of terminally ill patients whose doctors have refused to participate in assisted suicide. The services offered by the mobile units are free of charge, but each mobile unit can only assist with one suicide per week. This is due to the emotional strain such a procedure takes on the doctors and nurses who undertake the procedure.
"They will first give the patient an injection, which will put them into a deep sleep, then a second injection follows, which will stop their breathing and heart beat," explained Walburg De Jong, an advocate of assisted suicide.
How long before groups of people are deemed useless to society and compulsorarily killed in this manner? That’s where we are heading. If children are taught that we are nothing more than evolved monkeys we shouldn’t be surprised if our societies become more savage and vicious.
Richard Dawkins said in a quote from 2006 “If you can breed cattle for milk yield, horses for running speed, and dogs for herding skill, why on earth should it be impossible top breed humans for mathematical, musical or athletic ability.”
Bioethicist Peter Singer takes it further. Like Barrack Husein Obama (see story on our website about America's most evil president), he advocates that parents have a ‘right’ to kill their baby, not just before birth, but even immediately after the child is born. Peter Singer , though he is too humane to eat a hamburger and advocates giving rights to great apes, has no qualms about infanticide.
To him, an unborn child only acquires ‘moral significance’ at around 20 weeks’ gestation, when the baby is able to feel pain. But ‘even when the fetus does develop a capacity to feel pain—probably in the last third of the pregnancy—it still does not have the self-awareness of a chimpanzee, or even a dog’, and so he gives greater ‘moral significance’ to the chimpanzee and dog than to the unborn child.1
He admits
the unborn child is fully human, but argues that the humanity of the unborn child does not obligate society to preserve that life. In Rethinking Life and Death, Singer takes the view that ‘newborn-infants, especially if unwanted, are not yet full members of the moral community’, and proposes a 28-day period in which the infant might be killed before being granted full human rights.2
He argued in another article that, due to the high rate of disability in very premature infants, doctors should not treat babies born before 26 weeks of gestation if the parents of such a child decide not to treat their infant.4 Singer asserts: ‘killing a disabled infant is not morally equivalent to killing a person. Very often it is not wrong at all.”
So we are faced with two choices, two worldviews. Here they are. In our Table of Truth, from Cults and Isms: True or False? We must choose this day who we will serve.
Table of Truth – Evolution vs. the Bible by Pat Franklin. This is part of a terrific chapter in our book, Cults and Isms: True or False? clearly setting out the absurdity behind the theory of evolution. The chapter, by Pat, is devastating to Darwinism
and every Christian should read it to be armed with the facts. The book is available from our web shop. Here are the highlights of The Table of Truth:
Evolution theory:

The Bible:
|
About 15 billion years ago, there was a point smaller than the head of a pin which contained all the matter and energy of the entire universe. It suddenly expanded, changing from a tiny spot to all the stuff of the universe, expanding outwards at great speed. This is known as the Big Bang.
|
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
The Hebrew word bara (created) means created from nothing. God created everything from nothing.
|
You cannot possibly prove the existence of God.
|
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. Psalm 19:1
Nature itself, God’s creation, is a proof of His existence.
Did your car put itself together? Did your house build itself? No, nor did the universe just happen to spring into existence. The order in nature speaks clearly of a master Designer.
|
It took millions of years for all the gas of the Big Bang to coalesce and form planets etc.
|
“And the evening and the morning were the first day.” Genesis 1:1 Day in Hebrew is yom and when it is preceded by a number it always means a 24 hour period. The context also proves that it is a literal 24 hours – “evening and morning”.
|
Man is just an animal.
|
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion…over all the earth.” Genesis 1:26
Man is made in the image and likeness of God.
|
Millions of years ago our ancestors were swinging through the trees…
|
“And God said…have dominion …over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28
The first man did not swing in the trees; he had dominion over things that swing in trees.
|
Man is just an accident of time and chance.
|
“…for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are Thy works…” Psalm 139:14
|
One species can evolve into something quite different.
|
“And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind…and it was so.” Genesis 1:24
An ant cannot evolve into an elephant, a dog into a bear etc. Everything reproduces after its kind.
|
Life somehow came from non-living matter – from the rocks and gas that came out of the Big Bang. (This goes against the Law of Biogenesis in biology which states that life arises from life; it cannot come from non-living material. This was proven in 1864 by Louis Pasteur.)
|
“God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7
|
The earth was formed from a solar cloud consisting mainly of hydrogen. Under gravitation the cloud condensed and shrank to form the planets orbiting around the sun. The first rocks formed over 3500 million years ago.
|
“He stretches out the north over the empty place, and hangs the earth upon nothing.” Book of Job 26:7 (written about 2000 B.C., the oldest book in the Bible.)
|
Nothing was made by God.
|
“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven…saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgement is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” Book of Revelation 14:7
|
There is no God.
|
“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no god.’ ” Psalm 14:1 and Psalm 53:1
|
Despite the evidence of intricate design in everything, there is no Designer; it all just developed over long periods of time.
|
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men…” Colossians 2:8
|
PAT CONTINUED: "The witty creationist Dr. Kent Hovind was speaking at a conference which we attended in Pennsylvania in 2002. He told us that at one debate at an American college, an academic had said:
“How can you expect us to believe that 270 (or however many) breeds of dogs all came from just one pair of dogs that came out of the Ark?”
Dr. Hovind replied:
“You have a bigger problem than I have, because you believe that 270 breeds of dogs came from a rock.”
“We don’t say that at all,” objected the academic.
“Oh, yes, you do,” said Dr. Hovind, and he took them through the standard evolutionist’s creed:
big bang, millions of years, rain falling on rocks, primeval soup forming, slimy critter crawling out, millions more years, bingo – dogs from rocks!
The academic slunk off to drown his sorrows in some primeval soup.
It just didn’t happen that way.
What did happen is that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, just as He says in Genesis Chapter 1.
Why is that so hard to believe?
It makes a whole lot more sense than evolution.
We do not have to apologise for believing what God says in His book.
He did not make a mistake on the first page.
The Creator knows how, when, where and why He made the first man and woman.
We can rely absolutely on His word for what He did. "
Evolutionists are without excuse.
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of Him from the creation are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse." Romans 1; 18-22.
In John’s Gospel, chapter 10, Jesus said, ‘I tell you the truth … the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; but I have come so that they may have life, and have it to the full’
That same Jesus is the Word (John 1:1) who has spoken into history from its very beginning. ‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth … God created man in His own image … God saw all that He had made, and it was very good … Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array’ Genesis 1;1:
27. 31; 2;1)
We do not come from chaos, ascending via ‘survival of the fittest’ to reach a utopia of our own making. We come from perfection, through failure into pain and death—which came into being when our first parents sought to exclude God; just as Darwin, and then the tyrants I have mentioned, have done since.
The Bible has it right and the dictators had it wrong about the past which is shown in the death and destruction their ideas wrought. But Jesus was right—as is equally evident in the good fruit of His own life.
They were also wrong about the future. The Utopian dream will not be fulfilled by man, but by God. History is heading towards ‘that day’—the promised new heavens and new earth, which follows the death of death and the destruction of the ‘old’ (2 Peter 3:10)
All those who love Jesus can look forward to the heavenly Marriage Feast of the Lamb of God (Revelation 19. In the soon-to-be-here millennium, the Lordwill reign from Jerusalem, truth and justice will prevail and be taught in schools and creation will be restored.
Maranatha- come, Lord Jesus!
