Here we are again, nearly September, the Jewish month of Tishri, and time for the autumn feasts of Israel to roll out, starting with the blowing of trumpets. Many Christians, me included, think this is prophetic of the Rapture, when there will be the sound of a trumpet as the Lord Jesus calls all true Christians up to Himself in the air.
Will this be the year? No one knows, but Jesus told us to watch and be ready and Psalm 89 verse 15 tells us we will be really happy, those of us who know the joyful sound.
God Himself decreed the 7 feasts of Israel and they are prophetic. The first three spring Passover feasts were fulfilled by the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord.
Pentecost, the Feast of Weeks, was fulfilled 50 days later when the Holy Spirit came and the church was born. The first four feasts were fulfilled on the exact day they were being celebrated by all of Israel.
The last three, the autumn feasts of Trumpets, Day of Atonement and Tabernacles, are not yet fulfilled, which is what makes them so exciting. We have been to Israel for those feasts.
Trumpets can start on one of two days, so you don't know the day nor the hour.
Then there are seven days, like the seven years of tribulation.
Then day
10 is the Day of Atonement, when all of Israel stays home and fasts and repents of their sins. This is symbolic of Israel in the Great Tribulation repenting of their unbelief in their Messiah and turning as a whole nation to faith in Christ.
He said they wouldn't see Him again until they called on Him, and they certainly will - mourning at their failure to accept Him and begging Him to return.
That's all He's waiting for!
Then the best bit - the last feast of the cycle - Tabernacles, symbolic of the 1,000 year Millennial reign of our great King Jesus!
He promised that we could rule with Him if we are faithful now in whatever He gives us to do.
This might be something very humble and ordinary, but if He wants you to do it, you will know.
Some
Christians will be put over ten cities!
And if you can't get out and do something, you can still pray or financially support a missionary or a poor family for example.
Are you watching?
Are you ready?
Many will be ready and will escape the Great Tribulation.
Many will have to go through it, but will repent and come to faith.
They are the tribulation saints.
We have a homemade Rapture poster in our front yard where lots of people walk by on their way to the park.
It gives the main points and tells people what to do to be saved.
We’ll leave it there until the middle of September and if we’re still around, we’ll take it down until next summer and replace it with some other homemade poster containing Bible truth.
I hope we’re not around.
You will find the feasts set out in Leviticus 23.
Of course the Rapture may not happen on the Feast of Trumpets.
Good teachers say it could be at any time, which is why we have to watch, not go to sleep for a year and wait for next September!
I'm not going to argue about it.
I just know it is on God's calendar and I hope I will be ready when the great day arrives.
