My daughter and I (Pat)were in Israel finishing a meal and she said: 'The highest category of people on earth is the church.' She is so right. Those of us who have gone through that narrow gate, on to that rocky path that leads to Heaven are the most fortunate group of people in the world.
It amazes me every time I think of it; so simple, so profound, the inexplicable mercy of God in allowing us to belong to Him. And what is our ticket to glory, but our faith in God's Son and His great sacrifice of shedding His own human blood to make atonement for the sins of all who put their faith in Him.
The Bible pictures believers, the church, as the Bride of Christ. The Bride! The most special group of people ever to live are united to the Lord Jesus Christ in a miraculous way already, and will be united in a way we cannot even begin to understand once we are actually with Him.
By the church I mean everyone since Calvary who has put their trust in the Lord Jesus. As my daughter pointed out, the Lord said that John the Baptist was the greatest man who had ever lived, but that the least in the kingdom of Heaven was greater than John.
So if you are a born again believer and are feeling a bit down or left out today, take heart! You are part of the Bride, the Bride of the Creator of this universe. You will live and rule and reign with the King of kings, right beside Him. Whatever you may have to go through now is just temporary, and if you lay your troubles at His feet, you will find He will use them for His glory.
If you have no sense that you belong to Jesus, you need to read the gospels and ask the Lord to show you your sins, so that you can repent and come to Him for forgiveness.
