Dear Catholics, your church says that you will go to hell if you believe that you are saved through God's grace by faith alone.  The Bible says the exact opposite! by Pat Franklin

The apostle Paul in his wonderful letter to the Ephesian church says this:  'For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.'  Ephesians 2:8

The Roman Catholic Church disagrees.  It says if you believe what Ephesians 2:8 says, you are cursed, anathema, excommunicated from the church and condemned to Hell for all eternity.  The Catholic curse on all true believers is in Canon 9 of the Council of Trent, which is said to be 'infallible' by the Roman Church, and not able to be altered or dropped.

Personally, I go with what God says in the Bible!  I am so glad my salvation does not depend on my works or receiving 'sacraments' or anything except my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His holy blood shed for my sins at Calvary.  What freedom, what liberty there is in Jesus!  No more fear!  He will deal with any voice which rises against His children, trying to put curses on them!

The Catholic hierarchy, in their expensive robes and headgear, fancy rings to be kissed, living in splendor, ... I would not be in their expensive Gucci shoes for anything when the Lord comes back!  I am so grateful to the Lord Jesus for saving me, a sinner.   I am so glad He led me to read the Bible and learn the truth.  I am so glad He gave me the knowledge and the courage to come out of the Catholic Church.

And so, dear reader, you too can be saved.  Please do not harden your heart or put it off one more day.  There might not be any more days for you, or me.  You can only draw the next breath if God allows it!  And in that next breath, your whole eternal destiny could be changed from Hell to Heaven!  You have a choice to make.

Here is a good prayer:  'Oh God, have mercy on me, a sinner!'   You do not need to 'go to confession' and tell your sins to a priest, who is just another sinner like you.  We have a great High Priest in Heaven, Jesus Christ our Savior, sitting at the right hand of the Father.  Tell your sins to Him; He knows them all anyway!  Today you can get rid of them all, have them all washed away in His holy Blood.  There is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood, the Bible tells us, and God became a man, Jesus, so that He Himself could shed His own blood for our sins.

What a bargain, what a deal!  We just repent of our sins and believe in Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, and we are pardoned, exonerated, washed clean of the foulest sins, made fit for Heaven, given a new life in Christ, born again of the Holy Spirit!  He already took all the punishment that we deserve; all we have to do is accept the wondrous fact of His sacrifice.   Can it really be so easy, so simple? Can it really be true?  Yes! Amen!

Could you do this today, repent and put your faith in Jesus?  Do you realize that you really are a sinner? Like everyone else on this planet, you have broken God's holy laws.  You do not measure up to His standards.  If you think you are so perfect, read the gospel of Matthew, chapters 5,6, and 7.  You, like everybody else, are far from perfect.

Jesus said that unless we are born again, we cannot enter the kingdom of God (John chapter 3).  The Catholic Church will tell you you were born again as a baby at baptism, but that is a lie.  A baby cannot believe.

Today would be a wonderful day to open your heart to Jesus and ask Him to forgive your sins and be your Savior.   John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'

Another good prayer:  'Lord Jesus, I believe that You are truly God and truly became a man, so that You could shed Your blood at Calvary and die as a sacrifice for my sins. I believe You were buried and rose from the dead on the third day (as over 500 eyewitnesses could testify). Please forgive even my sins (tell Him all that come to mind, however painful).  Please come and dwell in my heart. Please make me one of Your people.'
