A warning to fire-walkers: ‘…you shall lie down in sorrow.’
Are people still engaging in this insanity to prove their courage? A few years ago some groups and even companies were urging their people to walk on hot coals, psyching themselves up to believe that the fire would not burn their feet.
Here is what Almighty God has to say on the subject: ‘Behold, all you that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that you have kindled. This shall you have of my hand: you shall lie down in sorrow.’ (Holy Bible, Book of Isaiah, Chapter 50:11) Ouch. I don’t want to lie down in sorrow, do you? I take that to mean that your death will not be a happy one; you’re not going to a good place. Fire-walkers beware!
The worst kings of Israel made their children walk through fire. Not a good idea. God doesn’t like it. It is not only stupid; it is occult.
If any company expects you to walk on red hot rocks, you could:
- Refuse outright, quoting Scripture
- Refuse outright, using plain old common sense
- Say that the walk should begin with the CEO, followed by his next in command and on down the line – not with the workers. After all, workers should show respect for the boss by letting him go first.
Of course, we are living in the Age of Unreason. When the Bible goes out the window, common sense goes with it.
If you have engaged in fire-walking or any other occult activity, the Lord will forgive you and wipe the slate clean if you ask Him. Alan and I dabbled in all kinds of occult rubbish before we became Christians, and we renounced every one of them and asked the Lord Jesus to forgive us and to cleanse us of all occult involvement. It all comes from Satan and his evil hordes, and only God can save you out of it. He is stronger than Satan. Here is a good prayer, the sort of prayer we prayed after we became believers in Jesus to be set free:
Dear Father (Father of Jesus), I have done things that you forbid. I have sinned. Please forgive me. (Name every sin or occult activity you have been involved with, like seances, ouija board, tarot cards, horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, fortune telling, attending spiritualist churches, yoga, tai chi, reiki, all things psychic etc). Please cleanse me of all these things, dear Father, in Jesus' Name I pray.
And if you are not already a follower of the Lord Jesus, you need to first find out who He is and why you need to put your faith in Him alone, not in some church denomination. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, the Bible, so get a Bible and read it. Ask God to open your eyes and help you understand what He requires of you. To actually know God, you first have to know about Him, and you find out about Him by reading the Bible. Most people cannot be bothered to do this, which is probably why the Lord Jesus said that there was a broad way that led to destruction (Hell) and a narrow way that led to Heaven. He added that only a few would choose the narrow way. So - choose the narrow way, if you can be bothered, which most people cannot.
