This whole area of study is so frustrating, because the evidence is abundant and I believe unanswerable, that a worldwide flood, the very Flood of Noah, destroyed almost all life on the earth. And yet so few scientists will admit of this as a possibility, although they know that fossils have been found all over the planet, and are rarely formed today, since any dead animal will be eaten or just rot away.
This is the very condition that the Bible says will be prevalent in the world in the last days - that men will deny creation and Noah's Flood. The apostle Peter wrote in 2 Peter Chapter 3, that 'scoffers' would come in the last days (NOW!) who would deny that God made the heavens and the earth and that there was a great flood in which almost all life perished (the 'extinction event' which scientists tiptoe around, but never really deal with).
Peter says that men in the end times will also scoff at the very idea that the Lord Jesus might return and say 'Where is the promise of His coming?' Even most churches do not admit that Jesus is coming back! Christian churches! But the Bible tells us unequivically, over and over again. Here are just a few of the pertinent scriptures.
1 Corinthians 11:26 'For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death TILL HE COMES.'
John 14:3 'And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again....'
Luke 21:27 'Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.'
Mark 13:26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.'
Mark 13: 35 'Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming...'
Matthew 24:37 'But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.'
Matthew 24:44 'Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him.'
Revelation 3:11 'Behold I come quickly.' (suddenly, all of a sudden, when it happens it will be sudden)
Even Jesus' last words recorded at the end of the Bible could not be more clear: 'Surely I am coming quickly (suddenly, all of a sudden).' Book of Revelation Chapter 22:20.
But, just as men (even leaders who claim to be Christians) are too spineless or too stupid to work out that Noah's Flood was a real event, those same dunderheads refuse to accept that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming again and is in fact at the very door (Revelation 3:20, 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.'
The evidence is here, the words of the Lord are clear. To deny the truth is sheer blockheadedness and willful blindness on the part of people who should know better and who will be without excuse when suddenly the Lord does come back.
