Is God judging America and Britain with terrible weather? Yes, and why shouldn't He when we ignored all His warnings!

God deals with nations as well as with individuals.  Our nations have repeatedly rejected God and rejected God's clear rules, the commands He has given us in the Bible.  Nations which reject God are judged by Him when their rebellion reaches a certain stage of fullness.  They become ripe for judgement.

America and Britain are ripe for judgement.  Our most recent rebellion is our nations' approval of same sex marriage, which is completely detestable to God.

Now large parts of Britain, including a lot of farmland, are under water; America is freezing in the south and east; and drought has hit central California, where most of America's fruit and veg is grown.  The weather programs keep using the phrases 'unprecedented weather', 'of biblical proportions' and 'the worst since records began'.  This is judgement, dear friends.

In the Bible God gives many warnings of the horrible judgements which come on nations which do not fear Him, countries which do not obey His laws.  Our countries have rejected God and rejected the Bible.  Our nations have repeatedly spat in the face of God by declaring as good the things He has declared evil.

God gave the Amorites 400 years for their evil to come to a head.  They embraced the same things America and Britain embrace now - idol worship,  child murder, homosexuality, acceptance of the occult (which is demonic).  All up front and with the approval of the society.

We are now at that stage where things that the true God hates are completely legal and accepted and the land is full of other religions worshipping false gods.  We are where the Amorites were when God gave their land to the Israelites.  We are finished as nations.  We have blown it.  There is no national repentence, no repealing of bad laws, no turning back to God, no passionate nationwide pleas for forgiveness, no falling to our knees, little attempt to evangelize those enmeshed in false religion.  After all, we all pray to the same god, don't we?  Uh, no.  We're done.  That's it.

Are the pulpits thundering?  A few are, a very few.  A remnant.  A few brave voices, courageous men in America, hardly anyone in Britain.  And throughout Europe?  Silence.  Spiritual darkness.

The irony is that there are so many concerned, loving Christians, especially in America, but they are sidelined.  Their voices are not heard.  No matter what they say or do, it is ignored by the media.  It is like Israel in Jesus' day.  So many Jews then put their faith in the Lord Jesus as their Messiah*, the Son of God.  But the leaders did not.   They rejected Him, bringing a terrible judgement on themselves and on their nation.

Forty years after Jesus' death, Jerusalem was horribly destroyed by the Romans, and the Jews were either killed or dispersed among the other nations - for nearly 2,000 years.

But the Jews who had accepted Jesus took heed of His warning in Matthew chapter 24.  They saw the armies surrounding Jerusalem, and when those armies temporarily withdrew, they got out.  Most went to Pella, and there they waited for Jesus' prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem to be fulfilled, which it was in 70 AD.

They lived to tell the tale!  Lots of believers now are going to leave this earth in the Rapture, and the earth will then suffer the terrible events foretold in both the Old and the New Testaments.  The bad weather we are having now in the US and Britain is as nothing compared to the judgements that will hit this earth.  Jesus said that those days will be shortened, or else no one would even be left alive!

What there is is hope for individuals still.  There is hope for you, dear reader, if you personally will turn to Jesus Christ who died for your sins and mine.  If you will just think through your own life, pray for forgiveness, ask the Lord Jesus into your own heart, He will never turn you away.  He will accept you into His great family.

Won't you turn to Him today, put your trust in Him?  That is the only hope there is in this world, and it is an absolutely sure and solid hope, a complete certainty.

Our countries are under His judgement, yes, but you can be under His wing!  You can be under His protection.  Our nations are deep in sin, but you can be forgiven!  You can be clean, washed, set aside as God's personal possession, destined for heaven.  It doesn't matter what you have done, what guilt you carry.  If you are reading this, you can turn to the Lord Jesus and He will forgive you and cleanse you and make you a new creation.

He promised:  'If you believe in Me, you have eternal life.'  (John 6:47) Can you trust Him today?  Our nations have rejected Him, but you can still accept Him!  There may not be much time left for His great offer of free salvation.  Great events are coming and when they begin, it will be very different.  We live now in what is called 'the age of grace' and salvation is a free gift.  A time is coming when that offer will no longer be on the table.  You will have missed the best that God has for you.

 * That Jesus is the promised Messiah, the Anointed One, can be clearly seen just by reading Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53, as well as the famous prophecy of Daniel 9:25-26), plus many other scriptures.
