Dear Catholics, did you know that the apostle Peter was married?
Look at the gospel of Matthew, chapter 8: ‘And going into Peter’s house, Jesus found Peter’s mother-in-law in bed with fever.’ (verses14- 15)
Yet the Catholic Church demands that priests (and nuns) take a vow of celibacy, something Jesus never advocated. The Bible says that to forbid people to get married is, in fact, a ‘doctrine of devils’.
The apostle Paul, writing to his young disciple Timothy, says: ‘The Spirit has explicitly said that during the last times (now) there will be some who will desert the faith and choose to listen to deceitful spirits and doctrines that come from the devils; and the cause of this is the lies told by hypocrites whose consciences are branded as though with a red hot iron: they will say marriage is forbidden…’(1 Timothy 4:1-3)
The Bible scriptures quoted here are from the Catholic Jerusalem Bible. They clearly show that the celibacy demanded of Catholic clergy is a doctrine of devils. The fruit of that devilish doctrine is clear to all. It has cost the church many millions in lawsuits and spoiled the lives of boys and girls all over the world who have been the victims of pedophile priests.
Dear Catholics, if you love the Lord Jesus, you must come out of the Roman church. It is a counterfeit church, not Christian at all. Look around for an evangelical church near you, a Baptist church, or a Calvary Chapel. Feel entirely free to look around and try out other churches – after all, the Catholic Church is all for the ecumenical movement! The Holy Spirit will lead you to a good church. The word of the Lord to all Catholic people today is this: ‘Come out, my people, away from her, so that you do not share in her crimes and have the same plagues to bear. Her sins have reached up to heaven, and God has her crimes in mind; she is to be paid in her own coin…’ (Book of Revelation chapter 18:4-5)
